Tinctures and Teas
Alcohol: The tinctures contain alcohol, which is used along with distilled water to pull the herb properties out into a solution. For most herbs, this is the best combination. Many people have spiritual or other convictions to avoid alcohol. The alcohol in these formulas is less than the alcohol in mouthwashes or even a ripe banana. The dosages have been tested safe for people in Alcoholics Anonymous and those who are sensitive to alcohol. However, you may simply boil 2 oz. of water, add the droppers of tincture and drink when cooled. Alcohol has a lower evaporation point than water and will no longer be in the solution.
Teas:
Teas that are made only with leaves, stems and flowers: Bring your distilled water to a boil, remove from the heat, add your herbs, cover and let it steep for 20 minutes. Strain after steeping.
Teas that contain hard parts such as roots, bark, seeds and berries: Bring water to a boil, turn heat down to simmer, add herbs, and let it simmer for 40 minutes. Remove from heat and strain.
Add 1 tbs. of herbs for each two cups of distilled water.
Children's dosages: The dosage recommendations are beginning points and can be increased gradually. They are based upon a 120 to 150 lb. adult. Divide the child's weight by 150 lb. to arrive at a child's dosage. If a child weighed 75 lb., the dosage would be 1/2 of what is recommended.
Pet Dosages: Based upon the same formula as for children. For example, a 35-40 lb. pet divided by 150 lbs. equals 1/4. Use 1/4 the dosage for a 35-40 lb. pet.
Note: Pets can use most of our products, such as SupremeNutrition, Immune Boost and many others without any problems. However, some they cannot. Give us a call if you need information on natural health for pets.
Note: Herbs work best when you take them at least 20 minutes apart from each other. However, cayenne and ginger can be taken together with any other herbs.
