Internally for nausea, morning sickness, indigestion, gastric ulcer, gastroenteritis, irritable bowel syndrome, colic, influenza and colds. Externally for upper respiratory tract infections, sinusitis, excess mucus, asthma, itching skin conditions, burns, ringworm, neuralgia, rheumatism, and as an insect repellant. Excessive use of the essential oil can irritate mucus membranes.

A traditional ingredient for root beer. Use internally for urinary tract infections, prostatitis, urethritis, kidney stones, arthritis, and rheumatism.

Use internally for constipation and diarrhea. Externally for skin irritation and inflamed eyelids.

Used for pleurisy, bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, dry cough, gastritis, eruptive fevers, rheumatic fever, feverish stages of colds and flu, and uterine disorders. Excess causes diarrhea and vomiting. Not given during pregnancy. Externally for bruises, wounds, ulcers and rheumatism.

Used for autoimmune disease (especially rheumatoid arthritis), tonsillitis, mumps, swollen glands (including glandular fever), chronic excess mucus, bronchitis, mastitis, skin diseases, and inflammations. Excess causes diarrhea and vomiting. Not given during pregnancy. Externally for skin complaints (including fungal infections), joint inflammation, hemorrhoids, mastitis, breast abscesses, and varicose ulcers.

Use internally for asthma, colds, colic, diarrhea, chronic female problems, flatulence, liver problems, skin diseases, sores in mouth, toothache, ulcers.
