Herbal Joint Relief

Traditional Arthritis Pain Relief

This formula contains herbs that are anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, they detoxify, they act as a solvent for calcium deposits, they are known to help alleviate pain and swelling from arthritis. These herbs contain organic calcium that can be assimilated and used by the body (non-bio-available calcium and calcium deficiency are causes of arthritis) and herbs that help eliminate infection from fungus. It is recommended that Super Nutrition be taken for the nutrient needs, the diet consist of 40-50% raw fruit and vegetables, and that Five Day Cleanses (see Natural Health Handbook) be performed routinely.

Although generally thought of as a degenerative disease resulting from ageing of the joints, arthritis can be the results of an assortment of causes from injury to disease to genetics and may be triggered or made worse by poor diet. Nor does it only affect the elderly population, but a large portion of arthritis sufferers are children with crippling effects.

Devil’s claw has been widely used in Europe as a treatment for alleviating arthritic pain symptoms. Cat’s claw is native to the rain forests of South American where it is used in folk medicine for intestinal complaints, gastric ulcers, arthritis, and to promote wound healing. Alkaloids and other constituents, such as glycosides, may account for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant actions. Licorice contains the active constituent glycyrrhizin which is anti-inflammatory and inhibits the breakdown of the cortisol produced by the body. Licorice remains one of the most important herbs in traditional Chinese medicine.
